Putin's aide Surkov suggests naming new Russian ballistic missile in honor of separatist commander Givi

According to RIA Novosti, Assistant to the Russian President Vladislav Surkov expressed the wish to participate in the competition to name new Russian weaponry and stated that he already has his own ideas.

He said, "I want to participate in the weapon naming competition. I suggested naming it [the ballistic missile] after Givi because he is a hero of the Donbas." Mikhail Tolstykh or “Givi” was a commander of the pro-Russian Somalia battalion in the Donbas. He was killed on February 8, 2017 in an explosion in his office in the town of Makiivka in eastern Ukraine.
On Thursday, March 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Federal Assembly speaking about the novelties of the Russian defense industry.

Putin said that a new cruise missile with nuclear capability, which has unlimited range and unpredictable flight trajectory, has been created and tested in Russia. The new missile has not received a name yet.
