SBU to investigate Ukrainian media broadcasting of Victory Day parade in DPR

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will conduct an investigation regarding broadcasts of a military parade in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on May 9 by a number of Ukrainian media outlets, SBU reported via its Facebook page.

“The State Security Service of Ukraine will consider a request from National Security and Defense Council Secretary, Oleksandr Turchynov, regarding a live broadcasting of the so-called military parade from annexed Donetsk by certain Ukrainian media; [SBU] will submit relevant proposals based on the results of the investigation,” the statement reads.

SBU Head, Vasyl Hrytsak, commented on the situation, stating that the propaganda of “separatist organizations” is unacceptable “even under so-called ‘specious’ pretext.”

DPR’s military parade was broadcast largely by the Ukrainian Korrespondent online media outlet.
