Ukrainian President: each EU country should help Donbas

According to Interfax-Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko intends to urge the EU countries to take patronage over the restoration of specific settlements in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, announced the head of the state during his trip to the city of Avdiivka on Sunday, August 26.

"Ukrainian ambassadors will deal with several important issues like mobilizing the means of peace to restore the infrastructure of the Donbas," Poroshenko said.

He noted that the collected funds will be spent on the construction of roads in the Donbas. According to the head of the state, the Ukrainian government and diplomatic representatives will do their best “to urge each EU country to take responsibility for the restoration of a particular settlement in the Donbas, in particular, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.”

Petro Poroshenko noted that the heads of Ukraine’s diplomatic representatives in other countries arrived in Avdiivka. He said that he is going to discuss this issue with them.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed his conviction that the Ukrainian flag will soon be flying in Donetsk and congratulated the residents of Donetsk on the City Day.
