US Embassy in Moscow urged Americans living in Russia to be alert

The US Embassy in Moscow urged Americans living in Russia to be alert because of the political situation.

“U.S. Embassy Moscow reminds all U.S. citizens that the current political climate in Russia requires them to exercise the highest levels of vigilance and situational awareness.  Given recent events, the possibility for large-scale demonstrations, personal harassment, and increased anti-U.S. sentiment is elevated.  U.S. citizens are reminded that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.,” the statement on the embassy's website reads.

During the night of April 7th, the United States launched a missile attack on the Syrian Al-Shayrat military airfield in the Homs district, from which, according to the United States, chemical weapon attacks were coordinated and launched.

Russia said it was an act of US aggression against Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the US missile attacks were damaging to Russian-American relations and the fight against terrorism.
