US Air Force Secretary: Russia is the main threat to our national security

The United States Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James, confirmed that Russia supports the hostilities in eastern Ukraine. In her interview with Fox News, James called Russia the number one threat to US national security, Voice of America reported.

“Russia is one of a handful of [countries] that could pose an existential threat to the United States. They have nuclear weapons. They have been acting in very aggressive manners in recent years. And they’re also investing [in] and they’re testing military capabilities that give us pause, that are very worrisome to the United States,” James said. According to the US Secretary of the Air Force, the United States and its allies have reason for concern.

“I recently was in Ukraine. Ukraine, of course, is suffering as we speak from the illegal annexation of the Crimea. And there’s also all kinds of ceasefire violations going on in the eastern part of the country. People are suffering and they’re dying and destruction is happening. And this is happening, in part, because of Russian actions,” Deborah Lee James stated. As previously reported, members of the European Parliament will be shown what weapons Russia uses in eastern Ukraine.
