Ukrainian Media: Residents of the LPR are no longer paid salaries and pensions

In October and November, residents of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) stopped receiving salaries and pensions, as reported by Apostrophe news portal, citing sources in LPR.

Both private and state-owned companies are affected by the delays with the salary payments. The delays range from several months to a few weeks. Even the security services of the self-proclaimed republic are experiencing these problems.

There are also delays with pension payments.

The rumors have started circulating that Russia is ending its financing of the separatist republics.

One of the largest companies in the region – Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, is also experiencing delays with the payment of salaries. The factory has practically stopped paying its employees and in 2017 staff layoffs are expected.
