Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved strategy to reform public administration

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved a strategy for the reform of public administration for 2016-2020, including the plan for its implementation.

"I propose to support this strategy and start the process of reforming public administration," Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

According to her, the strategy provides for both short and long-term objectives. The latter include, for example, the reform of the system of public authorities.

The Vice Prime Minister noted that the concept defines the framework of public administration reform and defines the basic principles of such a reform. "This strategy and action plan provide a framework, while each department head determines the principles of implementation of the reform," she said.

Klympush-Tsintsadze also emphasized that the concept has been approved by the European Union, which is ready to provide Ukraine with assistance in its implementation. The concept concerns only the activities of the central executive bodies and local state administrations with regard to public service, but not local self-government.
