Ukraine intends to refute Russia's claims over 'Yanukovych's debt'

On the 3rd of March, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance filed an intention with the High Court of England to deny Russia’s claim for a 3-billion-dollar loan.

This was reported by the Ukrainian News in reference to statements made by the Ministry of Finance.

“Today, Ukraine has filed an acknowledgment of procedural documents with the High Court of England.  We have declared our intention to oppose all claims brought against us by the Law Debenture Trust Corporation Plc with regard to the so-called debt owed to the Russian Federation," the Ministry of Finance announced.

Ukraine will be represented in court by the leading international law firm of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, who specialize in litigation.

On the 17th of February, the Ministry of Finance of Russia filed a lawsuit against Ukraine in the High Court in London.  It detailed the non-payment of a loan worth 3 billion dollars.
