Ukraine has determined new dangerous areas for flights over the Black Sea

Russia has accused Ukraine of creating new zones where it is dangerous for aircraft to fly over the Black Sea, as stated on Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency website.

"The new dangerous air zones are over Black Sea’s neutral waters and partially over Black Sea’s territorial waters of the Russian Federation to the southwest and southeast of the Crimean Peninsula. The reason for the establishment of new dangerous zones is not specified in NOTAMs [Notices to Airmen]. By doing this, the Ukrainian side has made another inexplicable attempt to "interfere" in the sovereignty of Russia’s airspace, this time at a distance of 6 to 10 nautical miles [11 to 18 kilometers] from neutral waters."

As added by the agency, the Ukrainian side has not agreed on establishing dangerous zones over neutral waters with the Russian Federal State Unitary Enterprise "State ATM Corporation".

As Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency reported, "the agency informs that flights over the Crimea are not in danger and thus, the airspace over the peninsula will not be closed, and safety of Russian airlines’ flights between Simferopol and other cities of Russia is guaranteed”.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been informed about the situation related to Ukraine's plans to conduct missile firings near the Crimea on December 1st and 2nd.
