The Security Service of Ukraine is investigating 13 suspected Russian agents

According to the Press Service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) about 13 Russian Special Service agents are under investigation in Ukraine.

"13 agents of the Russian Special Services are under investigation, in particular the Deputy Chief of the ATO headquarters, a Colonel of the National Guard and an employee of the Military Personnel Department of the Armed Forces," the Press Service noted. In addition, among these agents there are several people from different regions that had operational links within the Russian Secret Services and transmitted secret information.

According to the Security Service, the staff of the SBU liquidated 30 groups during the year that were created by the Russian Special Services in order to sabotage efforts in Ukraine. Between June 2015 and May 2016, according to the Security Service of Ukraine there were 367 criminal proceedings opened, including 76 cases of treason, three of which were for espionage.

A guilty verdict has already been entered for 22 of the accused. In particular, a citizen of Russia, who served as a personnel employee of the Main Intelligence Agency of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, was sentenced to nine years in prison.
