Stoltenberg: NATO will not take part in any possible conflict between the US and North Korea

According to the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, any involvement by the North Atlantic Alliance in a possible conflict between the United States and North Korea is excluded.

"Last week I spent four hours in the White House, and I can assure you that there was no debate about NATO's role in relation to North Korea," Stoltenberg noted in an interview with Welt am Sonntag newspaper.

At the same time, the NATO Secretary General accused the leadership of the DPRK of destabilizing the entire region. He added that NATO condemned the repeated violations by North Korea of the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.

On the night of Saturday, 29 April, North Korea conducted a ballistic missile launch which resulted in yet another failure. The missile launched by the DPRK exploded in the air and fell in the North Korean territory.

On Saturday, April 29, the United States aircraft carrier Carl Vinson entered the Sea of Japan to provide security on the Korean peninsula and in an attempt to restrain North Korea.
