Russia detects American strategic drone off its Black Sea coast

On Friday, May 12, an American reconnaissance drone, RQ-4 Global Hawk, was detected over the Black Sea, heading towards the Russian border, Russia’s TASS news agency reported citing its source in the Russian military.

"Today, the Russian naval control of the Black Sea detected by an American Strategic Reconnaissance Global Hawk drone flying at high altitude towards the Russian border", the source told TASS.

According to him, the U.S. drones are making these flights regularly.

Russian media previously reported that on Tuesday, 9 May, an American reconnaissance aircraft, P-8A Poseidon, was detected of Russia’s Black Sea coast. However, after the Russian fighter jets approached the US aircraft, Poseidon changed the direction of its flight and flew away from the Russian border.
