The Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, confirmed that the site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been hacked.

The information that the Russian Ministry's  was hacked by American hackers was initially published by CNN.

“The site has been broken into. We are looking into who did it,” said Zakharova while on air with “Moscow speaks” Radio station.

The  information that the American hacker with the alias “The Jester” broke into the site of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs appeared the day before.

The hacker himself told about this in his interview with CNN. He said that his actions are a “warning” to Russian authorities who Washington believes are behind the hacker attacks aimed at influencing the US Presidential elections.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security, “The U.S. intelligence community is confident that the Russian government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from U.S. persons and institutions, including from U.S. political organizations. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the U.S. election process.”
