Rosneft calls decision of the EU Court on sanctions illegal

In its press release, the largest Russian oil company, Rosneft, has said that the decision of the EU Court regarding sanctions against the company is illegal and politicized.

The report notes that despite the fact that the European Union did not provide grounds for imposing sanctions during the process, the Court recognized their legality.

"The court refused to admit that the EU sanctions were adopted, among other things, to achieve hidden goals, and are in fact a form of competitive advantage," said Rosneft.

In addition, Rosneft continues to insist that it has not committed any unlawful actions in any of the jurisdictions where it operates, including Ukraine, and has nothing to do with the crisis in Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the EU Court recognized the EU sanctions against the largest Russian oil company, Rosneft, as legitimate.

Lode Van Den Hende, a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, which represents the interests of Rosneft, said that the decision of the European Court on sanctions against Rosneft is final and cannot be appealed.
