Poland and Ukraine signed an agreement on the supply of military equipment

The Polish Industrial Optics Center will supply Ukrainian defense enterprises with surveillance and guidance devices for armored vehicles, PAP reports. The agreement was signed on Monday, June 26 in Warsaw.

The agreement between the Industrial Center of Optics and Ukrinmasz refers to the supply of optoelectronic devices for drivers and commanders of military vehicles used by Ukraine, particularly the BMP, BTR and BRDM fighting vehicles.

The commercial director of the Polish enterprise, Pavel Glytsha noted that the work on the agreement lasted about two years.

"The Industrial Optics Center performed a number of tests and demonstrations on Ukrainian territory and on the training grounds for enterprises engaged in the modernization of tank equipment. It can be said that our devices were thoroughly checked, tested by the Ukrainian army and obtained all necessary permits for use in combat vehicles," he said.

Glytsha promised that his company would strive to create a modern optoelectronics center in Ukraine. "In the framework of this proposal, we would like to transfer some of the responsibilities to Ukrainian entities; we are counting on the support of the Ukroboronprom State Concern and its subsidiary, Ukrinmasz," he added. "Armored vehicles, night vision technologies, thermal imaging, lasers… these are only part of our interest in the Ukrainian market."

"We would like to offer you the opportunity to cooperate in flight-mapping systems for Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters, equipping an individual soldier, as well as integrated heads and optoelectronic modules for T-72 and T-64 tanks," he said.

The parties did not disclose the worth of the contract. According to the forecasts of experts, its cost could amount to about 750,000 euros.
