Moscow is concerned that US and its allies are preparing to remove Assad from power

Moscow is concerned over the increased efforts that are being made by other countries to end the rule of Bashar al-Assad in Syria. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Ryabkov, while commenting on the statement of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about Turkey's operation in Syria, Russia’s RIA news agency reported.

Earlier, Erdogan stated that the Turkish Army began the operation in Syrian to put an end to the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

“We have never had any illusions as to what goals the US and some of its allies pursue in Syria and the whole region. This goals have never been concealed. Many times it was announced at different levels both in Washington and Ankara that these countries do not see Syrian future with Assad in power. That is why there is nothing new here,“ Ryabkov said while speaking to journalists.

He also noted that Turkey is among the countries whose position about the future of Syria differs from the Russian position.
