Local elections are taking place in Ukraine.

Local Elections are taking place in Ukraine this Sunday, October 25th.

There is no voting in Crimea and the Territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions which are not under the Government control.

The voting stations will close at 21 00 Moscow time and the results will begin to arrive  shortly after.

According to the information provided by The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) about 70% of the Ukrainian population will take part in Elections.

IFES forecasts "Block of Petro Poroshenko" is the favorite to win the elections.

On the other hand results of other surveys show the popularity of the former Prime-Minister, Yulia Timoshenko.

According to the survey published by the Kyiv Institute of Sociology about 20% of voters are going to support Batkivshchina (Motherland) party  which have 1.5 points more than the "Block of Petro Poroshenko".

The recent polls show that the current mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, is the favorite to re-win this position.

The researchers say there are no other candidates that could beat him so his victory is almost guaranteed.
