The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Vladimir Groysman, in 2016 earned 4 million hryvnia ($147,000) on property rental. In an interview with Espresso.tv, the Prime Minister said that his real estate property is his main source of income.

"From 1995 to 2005 I was an entrepreneur that is about 10 years. I was earning money and instead of just using them, I invested them into developing a business. My property is mainly of real estate, which I purchased in the late '90s - beginning of the 2000s, as it then cost very little money. Then, I turned this property into commercial real estate," the Prime Minister said.

He then transitioned into the government and rented out "thousands of square meters of commercial real estate".

"And this is how I earn my living. In fact, I live using the absolutely necessary resources the basis for which I formed way back. Now from leasing and management of my property, it is estimated that it amounts to thousands of square meters of commercial real estate Thus, I declare more than four million hryvnia of income," Groysman said.

Also, he stated that he faithfully pays taxes and that he always registers his property. Groysman believes that his big income is a plus, as this income grants him freedom in his work as he doesn’t need anyone else’s money.

In 2015 Groysman's income from the lease of property was a little more than 1.3 million hryvnia ($48,000). His wife earned more as an entrepreneur according to the Prime Minister’s tax return.
