Erdogan promised Ukraine to keep Turkish ships away from the Crimea

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy, raised the issue regarding informal entry of Turkish ships in the ports of Sevastopol during the meeting with the President of Turkey, Recep Erdoğan, according to Verkhovna Rada’s press service.

Parubiy clarified that the two parties raised the issue regarding informal entry of Turkish ships in the ports of Sevastopol. In this context, President Erdoğan noted that even if this has happened informally, he would give all the necessary instructions to prevent this from happening again.

Parubiy further announced that the President of Turkey expressed his support for Crimean Tatars, including financial support, so that Ukraine could feel assistance in the adjustment of Crimean Tatar refugees, who were forced to leave the Crimea.

As noted by Parubiy, Erdoğan fully supported Ukraine’s position on the importance of preserving the blockade of the Crimea, including the sea blockade, and avoiding any contact with the annexed peninsula. Parubiy visited Turkey from November 19 to 21.
