DPR announces that six have been detained for assassination of separatist commander known as Motorola

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic has declared that members of Misanthropic Division group, whose representatives have claimed responsibility for the murder of Arsen “Motorola” Pavlov, have been detained, Korrespondent.net reported.

“On the 11th of November, six active members of the Ukrainian nationalist organization Misanthropic Division, whose leaders have claimed responsibility for the murder of legendary Commander of Sparta Battalion, Arsen Pavlov, commonly known as Motorola, were detained in Donetsk as a result of operational and investigative activities carried out by the Ministry of Public Security of Donetsk People’s Republic,” the press service of the so-called DPR stated.

According to separatists, members of the Misanthropic Division maintained contact with agents of the Security Service of Ukraine and performed tasks for the Ukrainian intelligence agency on the territory of the so-called DPR.

“Currently, operational and investigative activities are being conducted against detainees; they are making confessions on circumstances of commission of crimes of terrorist and extremist natures,” the separatist press service wrote.

The Donetsk People’s Republic stated that members of the division carried out missions on instruction from the first Deputy Head of the SSU and the Head of Anti-Terrorist Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, Colonel General Vitaly Malikov, and the Head of SSU of the Donetsk Region, Oleksandr Kuts.

Arsen Pavlov, also known as Motorola, was killed on the evening of the 16th of October in the elevator of residential building in Donetsk. Pavlov had been accused of murdering Ukrainian servicemen, including hostages. In his commentary to KyivPost, replying to the question about whether he killed Igor “Cyborg” Branovistsky, he himself stated that he had killed 15 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
