Ukrainian Foreign Minister: U.S. prepares new list of Russian companies to be sanctioned

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that in January the U.S. Treasury Department will prepare a new list of Russian businessmen and companies that may be subject to restrictive measures, reported news agency UNIAN.

“At the end of January, the United States Department of the Treasury along with American institutions must have this list prepared. This list will, in itself, be a very important leverage in influencing and putting pressure on Russia,” the Minister said.

He added that Ukraine worked with the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on the issue of adopting measures to counteract Russian influence through sanctions.

“I know that our American friends and partners are working very hard on this list. And the very fact of promoting these sanctions, I believe, should serve as a very good opportunity for us to increase pressure on Russia. Of course, in coordination with the European Union,” the minister said.
